Yves Saint Laurent: Paris by night

Spring/Summer ’17 Collection at a Glance

In the square in front of the palatial former cloisters, the YSL logo was unmissable: dangling from a crane, it lit up the Parisian night sky. This is where the new Saint Laurent headquarters is materializing. With his collection, designer Antonio Vaccarello has tapped into the label’s DNA, which is now associated with black, as dark as the night. He has even kept Heidi Slimane’s ’80s revival.

The Saint Laurent community was out in full force. At the front was Pierre Bergé, who spent 50 years at Yves Saint Laurent’s side, and his muses: Jane Birkin, Lou Doillon and Charlotte Gainsbourg.

Overlong tassel earrings. The benchmark: they should tickle your collarbone. Worn on both sides or, as in the eighties, dangling from just one ear.
