Emporio Armani: Elephants for Paris

Spring/Summer ’17 Collection at a Glance

18 years have passed since Giorgio Armani last presented a show in Paris. The occasion that drew him back was the opening of his new store in the heart of the city. The fact that he’s a perfectionist down to the smallest stitch is something that the Italian no longer needs to prove, not even in the capital of haute couture. Armani’s designs took him on a spiritual journey to India, bringing back elephants as embroideries, printed borders and soft silk fabrics. And pyjama trousers. He predicts we’ll enjoy a comfy summer in the city, in pleated trousers, loose skirts and light-weight materials. Definitely the new first port of call in Paris for elegant, light and casual, feminine city wear.

The striking straw hat is colour-coordinated with the outfit as a whole, with decorative trimmings, large, dark sunglasses and plaits braided close to the skull. There’s no leaving the house next summer without them.

Our favourite
The blueish-green pattern combination with the playful Indian elephant motif. Used to masterfully eye-catching and yet understated effect.
