What Men Wear in Spring/Summer 2016
Designer Brendan Mullane has turned out to be a very fortunate choice for Brioni, where an intellectual, eccentric mind is faced with craftsmanship rooted in tradition. The result is tailor-made suits made of an extremely light silk/wool composite with hand-painted stripes and colour blocks that look as though someone has poured geometric shapes in every imaginable shade of grey, blue, gold and green all over the wearer. Mullane drew his inspiration from the geometric design vocabulary of the Italian architect Carlo Scarpa. These suits are the eye-catchers of the season. What’s more, Mullane embellishes the suit jackets with an integrated waist belt.
