Spring/Summer ’16 Collection at a Glance
“Big Nature” is what it says on Tomas Maier’s info sheet about his new collection. He is thinking of nature, hiking, sport, of fashion for the great outdoors. The further away he is from the city, the freer he feels, says the designer. That’s why there are comfy dresses drawn together with ropes, cropped trousers, zip-up jackets. Animal prints and earthy colours are in vogue at Bottega Veneta this summer: leopard meets sand, to be specific. But Maier has also patchworked patterns with materials to create dresses and elegant joggers.
The looks are combined with sandals or clogs with studs. What woman doesn’t want a bit of comfort in her urban jungle? Bangles, two of each kind, should be worn symmetrically, left and right, like cuffs.
Sand-coloured, over-the-knee dress, tied at the waist, the neckline ruffled with a drawstring. Who knew elegance could be this comfortable!
