At Work with Bottega Veneta

Spring/summer ’18 collection at a glance

Creative director Tomas Maier sent his models down the catwalk in an Italian school. The spring/summer looks they were sporting are reminiscent of classic work clothes. Very clean. Very practical. But flying in the face of that approach are a range of elaborate embellishments like tiny pieces of mirror and metal eyelets applied by hand to jackets, tops and skirts.

For his colour palette, Maier found inspiration in the Marble Hall of Kedleston, a Palladian country house by the British architect Robert Adam: the pale pink of the walls, the sea blue in the frescoes, the gradations of green in the columns.
