Egon Schiele at Alexander McQueen

Autumn/Winter ’15 Collection at a Glance

Sarah Burton has been responsible for the label since Alexander McQueen passed away. And she handles it with great care – after all, she has been bitten by the same passion-for-detail bug as McQueen was, too. Burton sees autumn as a romantic season. Roses were her inspiration. As was an Egon Schiele exhibition in London. You can find elegance and delicacy in the looks. The beauty of Schiele’s imperfect female portraits forms the template for hair and make-up. Infused with autumnal colours: nude, bordeaux, blood red, black.

Ankle boots with Plexiglas heels, mini-suitcase bags, oversized black leather gloves.

Our Favourite
Alongside the skintight skeleton dresses made of lace, it goes without saying that our favourite is the dress that resembles a rose blossoming: fitted above with frayed silk, the skirt below is like a flower in full bloom.

The Show
Guests were invited to the Conciergerie in Paris, where models paraded between the pillars. Combining the location with religious music evoked a church-like atmosphere.
