Merry Christmas everyone!
The day is finally here: your home is clean and you’ve done the last spot of shopping. Now for the best bit: wrapping presents, writing cards and adding the final decorations to the tree and the rest of your home. Forewarned is forearmed: understated styles are simply out of the question in 2015. This year we are decorating our homes with metallics, pastels, animal motif, retro styles and candles, candles, candles. We want each and every sparkle to remind us of our childhoods.
Retro in pastels
White, gold, silver and copper are not only on-trend colours for decorations: they also dominate the accessories we use at Christmastime. Also in great demand: girlishly soft pink, mint, turquoise and blue. Pastel shades are en vogue – as baubles, table decorations or candles. Other trendsetters are nature and animal motifs. Birds, in particular, will be adorning our Christmas trees. Or our balconies – if we can tempt them with a stylish birdhouse. Last but not least, there is still no stopping the wave of retro designs, for example in the form of ’50s-style advent calendars. But who wouldn’t want to look back fondly on the days when Christmas was still white and the world was still shipshape!
