When the days get shorter, the hemlines get longer and the fabrics cosier. In autumn and winter 2019 coats are a must-have. In addition to classics, the international labels also have some surprises up their (long) sleeves. Which coat is your favourite? An overview of the season’s key pieces:
Houndstooth patterns and checks are always essential when the temperatures start to drop. While Prada has gone for a very classic take on this evergreen classic, Bottega Veneta has used woven leather to demonstrate an alternative way to wear black and white.
Confident fashionistas who prefer something a little more offbeat can opt for camouflage this season, for example by Miu Miu. The only thing that you will be competing with for attention is the sea of leaves – but you’ll be safe in the urban jungle.
Or go fluffy in faux fur and shearling. Valentino’s collection features coats that you will never want to take off. Soft and cuddly lapels and collars made an appearance on the catwalk at Prada.
You can’t go wrong with a coat in shades of beige and cream. Whether by Louis Vuitton, Blancha (available at Amicis Deuxieme) or Emporio Armani in a floral down variety. These colours are style classics.
Needless to say, leather is big again this autumn and winter. Click here to read more.
