Louis Vuitton turned over a new leaf in 2016 with seven scents. And we can now enjoy their sequel. Released in mid-March, Le Jour Se Lève will be the Parisian brand’s eighth perfume.
With it, Louis Vuitton’s master perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud has attempted to capture the way you feel first thing in the morning when the first rays of sunlight emerge on the horizon. When everything is slowly drenched in a soft, warm light. When the day is fresh, anything is possible and optimism is in the air.
To recreate this transition from night to day, Belletrud turned to one of his favourite ingredients: the mandarin. He has combined the fruit with jasmine, magnolias, osmanthus – reminiscent of apricots – and a hint of blackcurrant.
“Mandarin is a wonderful citrus fruit because it can simultaneously capture the optimism of the flesh, the crispness of the zest and the floral aspects of the tree,” the perfumer reveals.
As with the previous perfumes, the sumptuous flacons are refillable in the stores, and there is also a travel spray complete with refills so that you don’t have to miss out on your favourite fragrance while you’re globetrotting.
