Searching for freedom and adventure in distant lands. That’s the spirit behind travel connoisseur Louis Vuitton, a company that became famous as a suitcase manufacturer back in 1854. In their latest travel campaign, the actor Emma Stone personifies precisely these attributes in front of Craig McDean’s camera in the Californian desert. She symbolizes a confident protagonist who is always on the move.
City Guides and Travel Books
Since 1998 Louis Vuitton has been producing City Guides. They are constantly updated, with the architect Dominique Perrault showing his Paris, artist Camille Walala guiding us through London, curator Nancy Spector presenting New York and Takeshi Kitano introducing Tokyo this year. Highlights and trends, boutique hotels, gourmet restaurants, small bistros and the prettiest neighbourhoods are shown alongside vintage shops and hidden locations.
Capturing the soul of a country in an artistic way is the aim of the Louis Vuitton Travel Books. The Chinese artist Li Kunwu ventured on a journey of discovery across Cuba and came back with his suitcases filled with inspiration. The result was 300 pictures, in paint and ink, portraits as well as landscapes.
