After years of experience in fashion, art and culture, Anne-Charlotte Falck opened the Falcktory, a communication agency specialized in “the art of living”.
When you look around the city, where does creativity run through the veins of Paris? The heart of the Parisian art market is definitely in the district of Le Marais. The Belleville area is fertile soil for up-and-coming creative talents, while Montmartre and southern Pigalle can also be called creative quarters. You can often find me on Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Denis – more specifically in the burger bar Paris New York (50 Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Denis) and at Chez Jeanette (47 Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Denis), a hotspot of Parisian nightlife.
Which young fashion designers can we expect to hear more about soon? I have fallen in love with the fashion by Lorafolk (10 Rue Beauregard), a label that’s also one of my clients. Every single item is produced in France. The founders Quentin and Laura design fashion and wedding collections that they sell both in their atelier and online (www.lorafolk.com).
Where do you regularly buy pieces for your own wardrobe? I buy shoes at Sézane (1 Rue Saint-Fiacre). I find elegant leather bags in modern designs at G.alaix (15 Rue George Sand). Dresses that are considered chic in Paris are sold by the brand Claudie Pierlot (30 Rue des Francs Bourgeois).
Tell us a secret: where is the best place to go for small design objects? Jamini (10 Rue Notre Dame de Lorette) has the most beautiful cushions, as well as scarves, jewellery, bags and tableware. I can recommend the Bobart Store (89 Rue Saint-Martin) for decorative objects and curios.
Which restaurant do you recommend for an elegant evening meal? Chez Sola (12 Rue de l’Hôtel Colbert), where I regularly spend evenings with my boyfriend. They may even be awarded a Michelin star.
And where do you pop by to grab a quick and healthy lunch? The Café Pinson has the best quality vegetarian and organic food – and what’s more, it looks great, too.
When you want to see modern art and photography, which galleries do you go to? The Galerie Lacroix (19 Rue Lesage) in the Belleville district shows street art. The Galerie Particulière (16 Rue du Perche) in Marais focuses on a combination of established and entirely unknown artists.
Which hotel do you book for friends who come to visit? The Hotel Amour is both cosy and chic at the same time (8 Rue de Navarin). A great breakfast and fabulous lunch are served at Hotel Bachaumont (18 Rue Bachaumont).
