Louis Vuitton truly is the cat’s whiskers. Famous around the world for the LV monogram, the fashion label has now launched a collection called Catogram. Created in collaboration with the legendary former creative director of Vogue, Grace Coddington.
Coddington is not only famous for her flame-red hair, but also for her love of cats. In 2006 she even released a book on the topic: The Catwalk Cats.
Louis Vuitton’s classic, reinterpreted
Coddington’s illustrations now adorn bags as well as pyjamas and accessories like umbrellas. On them you can see her cats Pumpkin and Blanket as well as her four-legged friends Henri, Baby and Coco – obviously named after Coco Chanel – who have since gone to kitty heaven.
If you look closely, you’ll notice some dogs dancing among the velvet paws of the Petite Malles, Speedys and Neverfulls. Why? Designer Nicolas Ghesquière is a dog fan and is the proud owner of two Labradors – Achilles and Léon.
