Summer in Vienna: when the temperatures go up and the days get longer, it’s time to go outdoors and stay there until late in the evening. One of the city’s most exclusive summertime meeting places has just opened right in the heart of the Goldenes Quartier: the Am Hof Kerbside Café in cooperation with Moët & Chandon has now launched its second season.
Champagne at the Am Hof Kerbside Café
This is probably the best place to sip on cooling summer drinks or an afterwork cocktail while enjoying the city to the fullest. Moët & Chandon Champagne specialities are served here – neat, on the rocks or as a cocktail. And there’s a range of snacks and light meals, too: the menu includes avocados, mixed leaf salads, soups, homemade crostini with hummus or steak tartare, sandwiches and the Am Hof burger.
When the kerbside café closes its doors at 10 p.m., there’s still hours to go until closing time at the adjoining The Bank Bar of the Park Hyatt Vienna …
A passbook: Vienna’s most creative cocktail menu
The Bank Bar is once again offering its new signature cocktails in the form of a pocket-sized passbook. Here guests can have their orders recorded and then later benefit from a bonus. The signature menu comprises 10 new cocktails with 10 new stories. Also new: for the first time it’s now possible to transfer money to the passbooks, making them a great gift voucher.
To do justice to the motto and the history of the former bank in which The Bank Bar & Brasserie and the Park Hyatt Vienna hotel are located, the names of the signature cocktails are reminiscent of banks. They have invented fictional financial institutions, so there are cocktails called The Royal Bank of St. Andrews or The Central Bank of Neglinnaya, for example. The place names are the where the spirits in each cocktail come from.
So that’s your small talk sorted! Plus there’s the unusual ingredients to discuss: featuring fruit tea, buttermilk and spinach.
