Backstage at the Fashion Weeks

21.08.2018

Miu Miu

It’s all about creating the perfect staging for the greats of the fashion world to send their models down the catwalks in New York, London, Milan and Paris. The design teams have been working flat out in the background for months to prepare for the big day. The backdrop, sound, light, make-up and styling have to work together perfectly to showcase the trends as sublimely as possible. We were flies on the wall at the shows for autumn/winter 2018.

Behind the scenes

On the front row, famous faces, influencers and fashion insiders are already wearing the pieces from the new prêt-à-porter collection while the models are showing the runway collection. At the same time, scores of images providing insights into life backstage are being shared on social media. And they are just as thrilling as the latest styles.

Models au naturel

At Valentino you can see models – still in their dressing gowns waiting to be styled – testing out their walk for the dress rehearsal, whereas at Miu Miu and Saint Laurent there are Polaroids of models and styles. Miu Miu feeds their followers’ social media streams with photos of the fittings and the front row in Paris – featuring Marc Jacobs and Gwendoline Christie.

Louis Vuitton shows the impressive backdrop of the Louvre. Entirely without models or an audience, it still has the capacity to create a very special atmosphere.
