Gently cascading fabrics, flowing lines, ties, stiff collars, tweed and floral prints. Hoschek loves the contrast between “dandy” and “girly”: tie and stiff collar above, floral skirt and loafers below. Her current collection embodies perfect craftsmanship between punky granny chic, college style and romance. Hoschek, who once completed an internship with the grande dame of punk and wild style herself, Vivienne Westwood, found the queen just as inspiring for “The Brits” as the quirky Miss Marple. The collection pays homage to the ’40s, the English aristocracy’s sense of style, nature and its colour scheme, and the classic chic of traditional English hunting parties.

Timeless handicraft

On the catwalk we could see creations that flatter all women, no matter what size they are. “I’m an advocate of leading a healthy lifestyle, regardless whether you wear an 8 or an 18,” says Hoschek, “Personally, I feel most comfortable when I’m slightly overweight.” With her checks, ruches and sprawling lengths of fabric, she has truly captured the spirit of our age, though Hoschek claims that her designs are not influenced by the latest trends. Ultimately, for her the most important thing is to produce clothes that are made to last, using Viennese handicraft. This is certainly another collection that we will continue to enjoy for years to come.
