Like parent, like child. Children’s fashion has grown up and is now modelling itself on international adult trends. Everybody is talking about mini-me matching outfits, and they’re just as much fun for children as they are for their parents.
The new trends are presented at Pitti Bimbo in Florence every six months. We spotted casual street style looks with lots of denim, cool appliqué and slogans on the one hand and elegant coats with houndstooth check and – as every year – elaborately embroidered lace dresses for little princesses on the other.
The Boutique Bambini always has well-known names in stock. Gucci, for example – Alessandro Michele’s colourful world of fashion fairy tales goes down particularly well with children. Especially the iconic loafers. And Kenzo’s fanciful prints even awaken the inner child in many adults.
At Chloe the romantic boho style is a must in childrenswear, too, while at Dolce & Gabbana you can indulge in the label’s cross-generational pattern medley. Young Versace and Fendi also have children’s styles on hand – and they, too, can be found at Bambini.
