Park Hyatt Vienna Wins Design Prize

21.10.2015

On Monday evening, the prestigious Prix Villégiature design prize went to the first Hyatt hotel in Austria. It is awarded to the best of the best hotels in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. The Park Hyatt Vienna won the category “Best interior design in a hotel in Europe”.

Founded in 2003, the Prix Villégiature is awarded by a jury of 22 international press correspondents and journalists. Journalists and photographers at VOGUE, Condé Nast Traveller, the German magazine Die Zeit, Italian Marie Claire, French LePoint and many others came together for the Prix Villégiature to vote for the most beautiful and luxurious hotels around the globe.

Creative and ambitious teamwork

“This is a very special moment for us,” says Monique Dekker, General Manager of the Park Hyatt Vienna, “being able to accept such a prestigious award and receiving such an honour after our months of work. An owner with a clear vision, experienced architects, a creative interior design agency, lots of ambitious specialists and last but not least the management of the Hyatt and its teams have together made it possible for us to be awarded this prize in Paris.”

Christoph Stadlhuber, MD of SIGNA Holding and CEO of SIGNA Prime Selection, adds: “We are incredibly proud to have received this prize and are all the more delighted because we feel that our efforts and our vision for the Park Hyatt Vienna have been acknowledged by this award. A large proportion of that was the work of the interior design agency FG stijl and its two founders Colin Finnegan and Gerard Glintmeijer, whose profound expertise in dealing with listed buildings – paired with their unique enthusiasm – made the impossible possible.”
