“The Opera Ball comes but once a year” is the name of the game. When the Vienna Opera Ball takes the stage, the entire city comes out to join in the celebrations.
But you don’t necessarily need a ticket to take part. For our at-home Opera Ball, we choose understatement over opulence and a pre-party trip to Lederleiter HOME and the delicatessen rather than the salon. A couple of Sacherwürstel (long frankfurters) cooked in the copper saucepan, served with fresh Kaisersemmeln (crusty white rolls) in the golden bread basket, followed by petits fours appropriately rolled in on the serving trolley. And on a night like this, what better way to deck the table than with a good helping of humour!
Champagne cocktails in saucer glasses are served on green marble. Mixed according to the bible of bar culture, written by Munich bar legend Charles Schumann. Enjoyment guaranteed – before, during and after the Opera Ball.
